Retitred BP Agent Explains Why He Won't Vote for McCain

A Retired Border Patrol Special Agent Explains Why He Won’t Vote For John McCain
    From: John W. Slagle

I have served many Presidents over three decades, in the military and federal service from the Vietnam era up to and including to the terrorist attacks against America that culminated in 9/11.

On the issues of illegal immigration, crime and stealth amnesty, Presidential hopeful McCain is unpopular with retired as well as active duty U.S. Border Patrol Agents and union local 2544 because he has worked actively to make their jobs more difficult.

    Here’s how:

In 2003, McCain co-sponsored S. 1645, the AgJOBS amnesty and was also a co-sponsor of the S. 1461 proposed amnesty for millions of illegal aliens.

In 2005, McCain and Sen. Kennedy introduced S.1033, the McCain-Kennedy amnesty for virtually all illegal aliens, he co-sponsored S. 239, the AgJOBS amnesty, and he voted against providing funding for additional Border Patrol and ICE agents.

In 2006, McCain voted against extending the border fence, voted to allow illegal aliens to receive Social Security, voted against funding additional immigration investigators and voted in favor of S. 2611, the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2006 that would have would have awarded amnesty to more than 10 million illegal aliens.

In 2007, McCain was heavily involved in the backroom negotiations of S. 1348 with Sen. Kennedy and President Bush for another amnesty for more than 10 million illegal aliens, he cast several votes to protect still another amnesty (S. 1639), he co-sponsored S. 774, the DREAM Act to grant in-state tuition and amnesty for more than a million illegal aliens under the age of 30, and finally he co-sponsored S. 340, the Agricultural Job Opportunities, Benefits, and Security Act of 2007 to grant amnesty to millions of illegal agricultural workers. A prior program for agricultural workers (SAW) passed in 1986 was filled with fraud.

In not one single vote did McCain ever have the best interests of America at heart.

Slagle, who lives in Arizona, worked in the anti-smuggling unit. He is a senior member National Association of Former Border Patrol Agents.

He served with the United States Navy, Aviation Patrol Squadrons 31 and 41 from 1963-1967. As Senior Intelligence Analyst on September 11, 2001, Slagle was on Command Post Duties at Regional HQ establishing data links and information for authorities nationwide. Order Slagle's book, Illegal Entries, here.

Previous letters from Slagle are here. Juan Mann’s 2004 column about him is here. And photographs taken by Slagle showing the extent of the illegal invasion are here.

All three contenders for prez are pro-invasion and anti-enforcement. We need a congress that upholds the law. Will the congressioanal elections favor immigration enforcement or be pro-amnesty.
