    New Hate Crimes Bill Unconstitutional

Wednesday night, while President Barack Obama held his televised press conference marking his first 100 days in office, the federal hate crimes bill passed in the House of Representatives by a vote of 249 to 175.

But not everyone believes this piece of legislation is a great idea. They are cautioning many supporters that such a law is a two-edged sword and may have unintended consequences that includes misuse by overzealous and politically motivated prosecutors.

Punishment of killing already gets prison time. So now we are going to have thought police - Orwell books are must reads - "Animal Farm" and "1984".

Sounds to me like something that you would see as a law in Communist China or Russia.
Wonder if this will apply to politicians and lawmakers also?
Or pertains only to the general public.

    hate?????

How hate is determined by your government-----

"C) is motivated by prejudice based on the actual or perceived race, color, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability of the victim, or is a violation of the State, local, or tribal hate crime laws."

To argue against anything--amnesty for example--can now be considered a hate crime. Way to go US Congress.

Crimes against all people should be of equal value.

The reason that they put this new hate crime law into effect when we already have hate crimes on the books is that they are going to give the illegals Amnesty and if we ( the legitimate Americans) complain about it and/or protest, we will be fined and/or put in jail for hate crimes against this population.

We already have enough laws. If the laws we have on the books aren't tough enough, then let's make them tougher. There is no need to make new laws to cover specific groups of people. I find it rather ironic that Obama wants to reduce the punishment for crack cocain users and dealers because most of those imprisoned are minorities, yet he wants to creat new laws to further punish folks that would murder, assault, rob, etc. someone that is of a different color or has different moral standards and beliefs. This is ridiculous, murder is murder, assault is assault, etc.

The End of Freedom of Speech for the American People.

I saw this debate or really massacre of our Constituion by the Democratic party on C-Span yesterday. I have to say as the debate continued, I was yelling at the television set, I was so angry. No matter what logical evidence the Republicans offered the arrogant Democrats aka Communists refused to even entertain their suggestions.

As an example: A Republican read from a bible that was given to him by his father who had had the bible autographed by someone like Abraham Lincoln. The Republican read the bible passages that talked about marriage being between a man and woman. And the Republican said that if a minister read this to his/her congregation and one of his parishioners attacked a gay person, the minister would go to jail along with the perpetrator. The law states that the minister incited the crime by reading the bible passage. This law, states that the courts decide if the minister was thinking in a hateful way. And the word perceived was used several times throughout the legislation. It is a very subjective law.

Our Freedom of Speech rights no longer exist.

It's another law to put the thinking patriots of our country in the shadows. It's abusive to Americans.
