Immigration Status Does Not Affect Financial Aid

    November 30, 2007
    by Travis Kaya

Despite the recent failure of a congressional bill that would have extended citizenship to undocumented immigrants in colleges and universities, Pomona will continue its policy of providing financial aid to students regardless of their citizenship status.

[b]“We have had an informal policy, though not an official one, of offering financial aid to outstanding students who are undocumented immigrants,â€

You funded illegal aliens with college aid and at the same time are denying American citizens financial assistance. You are rejecting some students because if you had funding for everyone, college would be free. However you are telling some American's we don't have money for you but we will give your education to an illegal alien.

Exceptional person or not, that's wrong, wrong, wrong...

I think some of these educators and administrators should have their reasoning skills checked.

as a college student I agree. The story of Zoey Zane should only hit home how hard it is for some students.... and that was just community college.

That's special. Just what kind of "financial aid" exactly, are they giving to illegal alien criminals?

In order to get anything through FAFSA,you have to supply your SSN.

If you fail to start your student loan payments after your 6-month period is over, they slam your report with derogatory credit. Americans with student loans in defaulted status cannot get ANY credit, not even opening a bank account!

So who is going to foot the bill for the illegal aliens when they are don't make their loan payments? WE ARE, of course.

So, again, what exactly is the nature of the financial aid, or are they fudging some paperwork for FAFSA? Are they giving out grants? What's the REAL story here??

Immigration Starus Does Not Affect Financial Aid -

ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF HOW THE ILLEGALS COME FIRST AND TO H--- WITH AMERICAN CITIZENS. DIXIE, YOU ARE RIGHT THIS IS VERY WRONG AND WHAT THEY ARE SAYING IS IT DOES NOT MATTER IF AMERICAN CITIZENS GET AN EDUCATION. JUST AS LONG AS OUR ILLEGAL GUEST ARE TAKEN CARE OF THAT IS ALL THAT MATTER. I AM SO SICK OF THESE PEOPLE PANDERING TO THOSE WHO HAVE NO RIGHT TO EVEN BE IN THE COUNTRY AND JUST CASTING US ASIDE LIKE YESTERDAYS GARBAGE. WE HAVE NO RIGHTS ANYMORE BECAUSE THEY ARE ALL FOR THE ILLEGALS. EVERY AMERICAN CITIZEN HAD BETTER WAKE UP AND PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT IS GOING ON IN THIS COUNTRY. THIS SITUATION AFFECTS US ALL AND WE HAD BETTER LET OUR VOICES BE HEARD BEFORE ITS TO LATE.

This is the question I keep asking......

What is so wrong with our nation's children that no one fights to educate them?

If Congress and the colleges want to do something to improve the lives and the earning power of the disadvantaged, why not ours?

Children who "age out" of foster care are left to scramble to take care of themselves. You want to stop welfare? Start there.

Despite what some have said, if you think there are no kids in the tenements with the ability and willingness to attend and excel if given a college scholarship, your a fool.

There are millions of American children whose lives could and would be drastically improved just by attending a trade school.

When have you ever seen an attempt to force a "Dream Act" for them through Congress?

Although the College has taken steps to ensure a Pomona education remains accessible to undocumented citizens.

    Amen to that!!

At any given moment, there are 2 million children in foster care in the US alone (mostly citizen children!).

Once the kids turn 18, they are kicked out of the foster home, without so much as a home to look forward to, and no skills other than survival instincts.

    How nice.

PS I lived in foster care in Pennsylvania for 15 years, until I was 18. The only "help" I got was "Independent Living" classes wherein I was taught to write out a check. I was then given up to $1500 for first-apartment expenses, but I had to provide receipts for every penny. I also had my first child five days after I turned 17. The only thing I had going for me at the time was that I had very good grades in school, so I stayed until I graduated.

After that, the only "help" I have ever gotten from C&Y was to threaten to adopt my kids to foster parents in an effort to stop me from activist work (against the foster care black market adoption scheme!).

Anyone ever wants to jump in this issue and get informed, send me a PM and I will provide you with information that will make you more sick than the illegal alien invasion.
