Nevada Republican Sharron Angle's new TV ad is racist, the head of Senate Democrats' campaign efforts charged.

Sen. Robert Menendez (N.J.), the chairman of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC), lambasted Angle's new ad, "The Wave," which targets Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) on illegal immigration.

"I do," said Menendez, a Cuban-American, when asked if he thought Angle's new ad was racist.

The new TV spot talks about an influx of illegal immigrants into Nevada, depicting Latinos, who are presumed to be illegal immigrants in the ad, as dangerous. Angle's campaign hits Reid for supporting benefits for immigrants here illegally, and for voting against making English the national language of the U.S.

"It's clear whose side he's on," the ad says of Reid. "Not ours."

Menendez condemned the ad in harsh terms, reflecting the already close nature of the race between Reid and Angle in the state.

"I think it's despicable. I think it tries to portray all Latinos in this country in a negative light, in a state that has such a large, vibrant, productive Latino population," Menendez said. "And it goes hand in hand with what Sharron Angle is doing in trying to suppress that vote in Nevada."

Then the Senator is implying that all illegals are of one race instead of several nationalities.
Or, is he saying that illegals of a particular race, Hispanic should not count because it is not a true race, but a mixed race, should be given special privilege. I personally think that Menendez himself is showing racial bigotry.

We do not care what you think Menendez. Illegal aliens are illegals and they have to be deported.

To a racist like Menendez, all he sees is racism.

Sen. Robert Menendez should leave our country now.....go home to Cuba, or where ever, and help the people he actually cares about, and just leave the Americans alone.

I saw the ad and I liked it. It was point on. It also appeared to me that the illegal aliens portrayed in the ad were actual illegal aliens. I believe the ad used actual photos of illegal aliens being booked, mug shot, etc. So what is racist about that?

C'mon Bobby, you know who push the agenda that illegal aliens are hispanic, dontcha?? Well for starters..you do, along with laraza, mecha, and on and on and ad nauseum. You insist in making it about race, when it's all about national security and the rule law.

Why are you blaming Angle for the problem? I blame illegal aliens and their enablers like you.

The ad is spot on and you hate that the truth is coming out. Deal with it and ENFORCE THE DAMN LAWS!

You are the racist, demanding special privileges for one ethnicity. Angle, like the rest of us, want ALL illegals out!

I'm just glad that some real politicians are using illegal immigration as a major issue this year, Those Angle ads are the brutal truth and if some hispanics can't wake up to the fact that MOST ILLEGALS ARE HISPANIC , well they can pound sand.

the legal ones are free to vote for who they want

It all boils down to image. They keep telling us all illegals are here to work. They want the American Dream. When we think of illegals we are supposed to be visualizing hard working, family oriented people. They do not want us to visualize this hard looking element.
