Assembly Republicans File Suit Against Spitzer

Members of Assembly Republican Conference, file lawsuit to stop Governor Spitzer’s unlawful plan to give illegal aliens driver’s licenses

Assembly Republican Leader James Tedisco (R,C,I-Schenectady-Saratoga) and members of the Assembly Republican Conference today officially filed a lawsuit aimed at stopping Governor Eliot Spitzer’s unlawful plan to give illegal aliens driver’s licenses.

The lawsuit – filed by Michael Cuevas, Chief Legal Counsel to Leader Tedisco and the Assembly Republican Conference – was processed at 11 a.m. at the Albany County Clerks office, which is a filing location for New York State Supreme Court.

The lawsuit of Tedisco et. al v. Spitzer was given an index number of 8736-07. Governor Spitzer and State Department of Motor Vehicles Commissioner David Swarts – also named as a defendant in the suit – will have 20 days after being served to respond to the five causes of action outlined in the suit.
