Lou Dobbs Tonight
Wednesday August 6, 2008

Tonight, we’ll have all the day’s news from the campaign trail,
where the meaningless, personality-based nonsense continues
while the American people struggle in need of real leadership.
And we’ll have a report on the dramatic verdict in a terrorist
case at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Plus:

* Airline management appears increasingly inept in the face of
its latest crisis. Instead of working to win the favor of
flyers, they are raising fairs and fees and reducing all levels
of service, including slashing flights to smaller markets.
Perhaps instead of being managed for profit, it’s time to ask
should the airlines be nationalized.

* Will there be international repercussions following the
Texas’ execution of Mexican illegal alien Jose Medellin?
Medellin did not receive consular advice at the time of his
arrest as required by the 1963 Vienna Convention. Legislation
pending in Congress could prevent the executions of 50 other
Mexican nationals on death row in the United States.

* Osvaldo Aldrete-Davila, the illegal alien drug smuggler from
Mexico who was shot by now-imprisoned former Border Patrol
agents Ramos and Compean, is scheduled to be sentenced for
marijuana smuggling today. Davila was given immunity from
prosecution to testify against the agents, and a border
crossing card by the US government. While under immunity, he
continued to smuggle drugs, a fact that was kept from the jury
in the Ramos and Compean case.
