OK: Terrill says immigrant crackdown may help economy
Terrill says immigrant crackdown may help economy
Andy Rieger
The business provisions of House Bill 1804, Oklahoma’s anti-illegal immigration legislation, may actually help Oklahoma weather the effects of any impending recession, State Rep. Randy Terrill, R-Moore, said Friday.
With the exodus of illegal immigrant workers, jobs should be more available to legal residents, he told Norman Chamber of Commerce members and guests.
However, business groups like the state Chamber of Commerce see it differently. They recently filed a federal lawsuit challenging the new law. Provisions requiring employers that do any business with the state to verify all workers’ legal status kick in July 1. Businesses say the crackdown has robbed contractors of many workers.

Who worked in hotels years ago? I was one! Most people don't think of applying for those jobs, at least where I live, because it's known who has been filling them. Waa waa waa, he'll find workers if he wants to pay them decent wages.

This will not only help the economy, but also the stressed public school system & health care facilities etc. We simply cannot afford to pay for tens of millions of Mexico's & Latin America's poor.

New law opens jobs, makes employers and employees pay into social security, less crowded schools, hospitals, less gas consumption, less crime. All lead to more spending in america, cheaper education, health care, gas prices and the most important some americans will not be in the grave yard that wouldve been killed by illegals that instead left.Big business fat cats and funeral home directors bank accounts are lighter.

Millions of dollars will now stay in OK instead of being wired to Mexico etc! That will be a big boost to the economy right there, way bigger than Bush's phony one time "stimulus".

See folks, there are politicians in this country who are not traitors. They are just getting too few and far between. Randy Terrill for U.S. Seante!
