Two San Rafael residents were arrested early Friday on allegations they beat a restaurant worker and robbed him of $20 and a cell phone, police said.

Sara Elizabeth DeLorenzo, 24, was booked on suspicion of robbery and conspiracy, with bail set at $50,000.

Kini Viliame, 31, was booked on suspicion of robbery and battery. His bail was set at $50,000, and he was also detained on a no-bail federal immigration hold.

Police said two other robbers were involved in the incident, and the investigation is continuing.

The robbery occurred at about 11:45 p.m. Thursday in the Canal neighborhood, where the 27-year-old victim was walking home after taking a bus from his job in Novato, said San Rafael police Sgt. David Cron.

Cron said four people jumped the worker, punched him in the face and kicked his back and body. The victim was treated at the scene but declined a trip to the hospital.

Viliame, 6 feet 5 inches and 265 pounds, and DeLorenzo, 5-foot-1 and 180, were questioned by police in the area and identified as suspects.

No charges were filed Friday against DeLorenzo and Viliame while prosecutors continued to review the case. A court appearance was expected Monday.
