U.S. Attorney's Office Press Release
Hau Yeung and his wife, Juan Bin Yeung were sentenced for unlawfully hiring and employing illegal aliens at their Jumbo China Buffet restaurant.
Hau Yeung, 36, was sentenced to three months in prison and two years of supervised release. Juan Bin Yeung, 35, was sentenced to three years of probation, along with three months of home confinement. A fine of $7,500 was also levied against both defendants. Both Yeungs admitted that they knowingly employed at least 10 illegal aliens to work at their Jumbo China Buffet located at 2731 Hurstbourne Parkway.
The investigation began in January 2005, when local officers observed suspicious activity occurring at the restaurant. Investigation revealed that workers at the restaurant were being transported from a residence located on Lantern Lite Parkway to the restaurant in a secretive way, and the workers were not listed as required on the Wage File Data.
