Santorum Attacks Romneycare and Obamacare On CNN

Rick Santorum managed to jab at both Mitt Romney and President Obama and their respective health care bills during his appearance on CNN's Piers Morgan Tonight Thursday evening.

Morgan asked Santorum if he was embarrassed, after frequently attacking Romney over his health care plan in Massachusetts during the GOP primary, to be now watching President Obama's health care plan partially inspired by Romney's pass the Supreme Court. Santorum tired to pass his comments from the primary off as "campaign issues," so Morgan asked how Romney can campaign against Obama's individual mandate when he did the same thing. Which person did Santorum choose to criticize, the Democratic President or the Republican challenger he's already endorsed?

The answer is... both. "I think what you're seeing is it hasn't worked in Massachusetts," Santorum told Morgan. "Health care costs in Massachusetts are number one in the country. They have a series of problems with people who decide to take the tax, in other words, pay the fine, instead of buying insurance, because it's cheaper. It doesn't work."

Santorum got to say Romney's plan is a mess in Massachusetts, with everyone paying the fines instead of actually getting health care, continuing his chilly relationship with the GOP's nominee. He recently criticized Romney's reaction to Obama's immigration ruling, and said he wouldn't serve in a Romney administration. He managed to attack Romney's health care failure, and explain how he sees the future of the President's health care plan playing out, ie not well. Touché, sir. Taking out two birds with one talking point is a feat.
