Illegal alien case: Plant mgr pleads not guilty
Comments (3)
The personnel manager of a Greenville poultry plant has pleaded not guilty to knowingly harboring illegal aliens.
Court records show Elaine Crump entered the plea in federal court Tuesday.
Crump was charged after a raid on the Columbia Farms plant in Greenville.
Authorities say employees scrambled to get away when federal agents raided the plant in October. Agents blocked entrances and found more than 300 workers who were in the U.S. illegally, most of whom have been deported.
Crump has also pleaded not guilty to telling workers to use falsified immigration documents.
Plant manager Barry Cronic has been indicted on charges of knowingly hiring illegal immigrants
The plant is owned by North Carolina-based House of Raeford, which also owns the Columbia Farms plant in West Coumbia.

Illegals speak perfect English and Pigs Fly!
Gee, the employers must have not noticed that their employees didn't speak English. Duh! Yea, right they didn't know?
