Taxpayers have a right to know how many illegal immigrant students are in public schools

I authored Senate Bill 1172 to require all Arizona school districts to count and report yearly their illegal alien students and seven legislators joined as co-sponsors. I was sorry to read Beth Lyon’s July 10 letter (“Federal law doesn’t ask student’s immigration statusâ€

Most of these students aren't illegal; rather they are the U.S. born anchor children of illegals. With many anchor babies born during the last few years, the numbers entering American schools every year is going to continue to rise.

Perfecto, Mr. Pearce. We do need to know why the crap we keep expanding and building our schools as the school districts are crying poverty to buy the most basic supplies. I suppose a lot of that money goes to make sure the administrative offices are comfy.
