In an attempt to ‘repel invasion' in the Republic State of California, the people of the state unanimously voted on Proposition 187 proclaiming "The People of California" – not the people of the United States – find and declare as follows:
That they have suffered and are suffering economic hardship caused by the presence of illegal aliens in this state.
That they have suffered and are suffering personal injury and damage caused by the criminal conduct of illegal aliens in this state.
That they have a right to the protection of their government from any person or persons entering this country unlawfully.

Therefore, the People of California declare their intention to provide for cooperation between their agencies of state and local government with the federal government, and to establish a system of required notification by and between such agencies to prevent illegal aliens in the United States from receiving benefits or public services in the State of California."
In 1997, after a three year battle, federal Judge Mariana R. Pfaelzer ruled California's Proposition 187 that unanimously passed in 1994, violated the Constitution and the federal preemption doctrine that arises from the "Supremacy Clause" holding the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996 denies federal, state and local public benefits to undocumented immigrants.

Judge Pfaelzer issued a permanent injunction pending trial based upon the decision in the Texas case, Plyler v. Doe. Judge Pfaelzer asserted
"Texas tried to deny public education to illegal aliens. The Supreme Court ruled for the illegals, based on two pillars: 1) there were supposedly not enough illegal aliens students in Texas public schools to be a financial burden to Texas, and 2) Congress was contemplating an amnesty for illegal aliens in the U.S. (that occurred in 1986), and illegal alien students who were to be made legal would not be educated. Neither of those conditions existed in 1994."
California's efforts to terminate the illegal invasion was overturned by the federal government through the courts -- not the people of California nor the people of the various states

the federal government doesn't mind spending billions for illegals, maybe if the states forced them to fund border security it will get their attention

Badthingsman had the nerve to say:
Arnold is putting pressure on the federal government to address the burden of excessive illegal immigration financially. I guess that's a good idea considering how the government weighs every issue on dollar amounts.
    Maybe it will work.
    Here's why:
Hey, guess what? This is nothing new. Every year The gov't reimburses California.. Every year! - Of course not the full amount - Stupid legislature funds illegals -But anyway -this is already federal Law- and every year since Schwarzenegger has been in office he's made a big show of his "lobbying efforts' to get what CA gets anyway.

His "Illegal immigration is a Federal Issue" mantra is complete CRAP

Got ya. I'll pay my "fair" share until we can get this Fed to do their job. Didn't know about the proposition and court action. Thanks to Californian's for trying.

Yeah, well maybe they need to try a little harder! Why is it when some activist judge decides something the issue dies on the vine? Surely there are ways to get around the federal courts, President Bush and Congress have consistently figured out how to get around American citizens!

Excuse me, but I'm sick and tired of paying for the illegal alien freebies. Since when did it become our responsibility to provide for these people? Nobody told Auhnold and these traitors in the CA state legislature to fund every freebie in the book for these foreign criminals. Maybe Auhnold needs to start arresting some of criminal employers and the state legislatures that are aiding and abetting the illegals. Maybe put the National Guard on his part of the border and use the police to help ICE root out the illegals from within.

    Maybe it will work.

    Here's why:

The people call for the government to help them out with a problem.
The government does not want to deal with the issue because it is complicated and expensive to correct.
Complicated and expensive? Like it isn't expensive to spend billions of dollars on illegal alien health care, education and welfare benefits? Just another excuse not to do anything. The government only cares about cost when it has to get off it's lazy collective asses and do something.

Arnold finds a legitimate way to hold the federal government financially responsible for the problem(s) resulting from illegal immigration.
The government cannot respond with emotional speeches and dramatic news reports of busts.
A certain dollar amount is either met or it is not met.
    No gray area.
Arnold supports McCain/Kennedy's guestworker sham. Arnold has done nothing to stop the invasion. Arnold is a RINO and a chump. Should have voted for McClintock.

The federal government is left to decide whether they want to set up payments with no means to an end or actually do something about the problem, so they will not owe future money for the same problem.

    Go Arnold!
Go Arnold, Go home and let someone who knows what they are doing and has an actual backbone run the show in CA. Go back to making B rated movies. Just remember, where was Arnold when millions of illegals were marching freely throughout CA demanding every special right in the book?

I've been paying my fair share. It's time for the ruling elite who push this crap on us to start paying for this.
