Tom Smith of Bergen County, N.J. holds a flag while listening to speakers.
It was a rally cry to elected officials to listen to their constituents.
The pro-Illegal Immigration Relief Act (IIRA) rally held in front of Hazleton City Hall on Sunday afternoon, which shut down a portion of the city’s major thoroughfare, state Route 309, also brought criticism of the federal Comprehensive Immigration Act of 2007.
One by one, speakers vented their frustrations with illegal immigration and the tolls they say it takes on society and average citizens.
Included in the lineup was Joey Vento from Gino’s Cheesesteaks in Philadelphia. Vento has been a supporter of Hazleton Mayor Lou Barletta and IIRA since its inception.
Barletta was one of the last speakers and was greeted with cheers and clapping from the crowd of people.
He opened up his speech saying, in a few weeks, the U.S. Senate “will consider what it callsâ€Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

He's right
He's right as soon as the illegal immigration bill is passed S. 1348 all illegal immigrants will be right with the law. Also the boarders will not be secured at that time or maybe never. Its amnesty first and a bag full of promises that may never happen.
"So the triggers do NOT require that DHS have operational control of the border; they do NOT require that DHS comply with the law and build the all of the fence; they do NOT require that DHS implement the exit system that would allow us to know if "guest workers" actually leave, even though it has been in the law since 1996; they do NOT require work site enforcement; and they do NOT require that DHS increase its apprehension rate or its alien absconder removal rate."
The above is a statement in this article: as below

"On May 24, senators narrowly voted down amendments sponsored by Sens. Byron Dorgan (D-N.D.) and Norm Coleman (R-Minn.), respectively, that would have sunsetted the bill’s guestworker program after five years (Dorgan) and would have permitted police to inquire as to an individual’s immigration status when going about their usual law enforcement duties (Coleman). Both proposals were rejected by a single vote (48 for, 49 against)."
