Search for Mexican girl has happy ending

SIERRA VISTA — A 5-year-old girl traveling with a group of illegal immigrants in the Huachuca Mountains became separated Thursday night from the group.

After a more than 10-hour search overnight, the girl was found cold, shaking, but unharmed, on Friday morning.

Every parent that has their child smuggled across the border should be charged, arrested and jailed for child abuse, child endangerment. The child should be returned back home to their country via the local consulates. Why doesn't Mexico do something to stop parents from sending unaccompanied minors with dangerous, armed, criminals on these very dangerous border crossings? My God, none of us would send our kids to the bus stop with one of these criminals nor with any stranger for that matter. What kind of mentality do these parents have....it's incomprehensible to me, really.

This story has gotten huge national press, I'm surprised so little has been said here. One of the worst aspects of this story is there is absolutely no mention of Felony child abuse charges against this step father. If this was an American who did this to a child, they'd be charged up the wazoo.
