If you notice people who are in and out of town on a regularly basis.

If you hear the frequent use of street names amongst a group of people.

If you notice gang tatoos.

Large amounts of traffic into and out of a house that are there for brief periods of time.

Unusual odors coming from a home.

LeCocq said to please be patient with the sheriff's office, due to the volume of tips received, it may take a little time to get your information

ZANESVILLE - Her job title is secretary. Her job description is saving lives.

By putting a face to the name of a dangerous drug dealer, Zanesville Police secretary April Roll has received a letter of commendation for doing her part in protecting the lives of law enforcement officials in Muskingum County.

"April has been as important to the ZPD as any officer," said Chief Eric Lambes. "Her knowledge and abilities are amazing. She's a very important part of the detective bureau."

Roll was a key player during the Muskingum County Sheriff's Office drug bust this past week, which seized nearly $1 million in property, cash and drugs from the Dodge City Crips gang.

The gang is based out of Los Angeles, Calif. Two of its leaders, Clarence Remble, 35, and Earl Owens, 43, were known to be in the area, but it wasn't until a routine traffic stop by the ZPD that anyone had Remble's photo.

Roll said through word on the street and her knowledge of the California drug activity, she knew something wasn't right about the stop. She made a call to her contacts in California and soon she had a photo and information.

"I wanted to know what we were dealing with," she said, adding that she "looks out" for the detectives that look out for her.

Detective Ron Buchanan of the Muskingum County Sheriff's Office said he's "got nothing but praise" for the woman who helped provide the sheriff's office with information.

"April normally does an exceptional job, but this is so far beyond the scope of her duties," said Capt. Mike Baker of the ZPD. "That she made the L.A. connection just shows what an asset she is."
