Silvano Uriostogui is accused of stabbing his wife and throwing her out an apartment window, Denton Police said.

A 47-year-old man is sought by Denton police who suspect him of repeatedly stabbing his wife and another man late Thursday, and then tossing her from a second-story window.

Silvano Uriostogui, the suspect, may be trying to flee the country, according to police.

They have alerted officials with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement that Uriostogui may be headed to the border, said Officer Ryan Grelle, police spokesman.

Investigators, Grelle said, believe that Uriostogui has been in the U.S. illegally.

Police were called at 11:30 p.m. Thursday to a report of a double stabbing at the apartment complex in the 400 block of N. Loop 288, which is in northeast Denton, Grelle said.

Uriostogui, Grelle said, "either entered or broke into the apartment and assaulted his wife and a male inside the apartment."

"The male victim," Grelle added, "was able to jump out the second-story window after being stabbed several times.

"After stabbing his wife, the suspect then threw her out of the apartment window."

She landed on her back and she was being treated Friday at Denton Regional Hospital, Grelle said.

Her injuries, although extensive, did not appear to be life threatening, Grelle said.

Investigators believe the 22-year-old man is a friend of Uriostogui's wife, but Grelle did not know if they were romantically involved. His injuries also did not appear to be life threatening, Grelle said.

Uriostogui is described as being 6 feet tall and 200 pounds. He has brown eyes and brown hair, and police provided a picture of him, although they believe he has shaved his head in recent weeks.

Anyone with information about the suspect can call police at 940-349-8181, Grelle said.
