LAS VEGAS (AP) — Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is set to headline an immigration rally on the Las Vegas Strip while others take place around the country. Organizers expect 3,000 to 4,000 people to take to the street Wednesday evening to mark May Day, which is typically a holiday for labor groups but has taken on an immigration flavor in the past few years. Demonstrations nationwide aim to push comprehensive immigration reform. Police are helping close Las Vegas Boulevard between the federal courthouse and St. Louis Avenue while demonstrators march the route at about 5:40 p.m. Scheduled speakers include Democratic representatives Steven Horsford and Dina Titus, as well as immigrants who stand to benefit from reform.
