Sen. Sessions: Executive Amnesty Citizenship Revelation ‘A Scandal’

    Washington, DC

The discovery that the Obama’s administration will now allow undocumented immigrants to apply for deferred action and advanced parole simultaneously — opening a path to citizenship — is a “scandal,” Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) said Friday.

“Our laws have been dismantled, stripped bare,” Sessions, the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Immigration and the National Interest, said.

Friday House Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte revealed that the Obama administration is now allowing undocumented immigrants to apply for deferred action and advance parole at the same time. According to the House Judiciary Committee, once granted advance parole, the DACA beneficiaries may be able to adjust their immigration status and be placed on a path to citizenship.

“In his executive decree, the President has opened up the possibility that hundreds of thousands of individuals illegally in the United States will be ‘paroled’ and given U.S. citizenship. Such a policy extends birthright citizenship to the foreign-born who unlawfully set their feet upon American soil,” Sessions said.

“It is an offense to the very idea of citizenship as something sacred, precious, and treasured,” he added.

The Alabama Republican expressed that perhaps the newest scandal will help encourage Senate Democrats to break their filibuster of the House-passed Department of Homeland Security funding bill that blocks Obama’s executive amnesty.

“Perhaps this newest scandal will finally provide our Senate Democrat colleagues with reason enough to end their filibuster and allow debate on the House funding bill to proceed,” he said. Maintaining and enforcing borders, and the rules of entry and departure, are not partisan fodder but the pillars of sovereignty; at its most basic level, the question for the nation is whether we wish to remain one.”

Sessions further highlighted that Friday’s revelation is the latest in a long line of unsavory surprises about Obama’s executive amnesty.

“We’ve learned that illegal immigrants will be given billions in free cash tax credits. We’ve learned that illegal immigrants will be given trillions in lifetime federal entitlement benefits through Social Security and Medicare. We’ve learned that illegal immigrants will be given driver’s licenses, creating new avenues for voter fraud. We’ve learned that the President’s edict will allow companies to replace American workers with illegal workers instead,” he said, going on to point out the latest citizenship issue.

Bless Sen. Sessions. I often wonder where we would be on this issue without his voice.

I truly love that man on this issue, the best voice we have in Congress on immigration matters. He was the perfect choice to Chair his Committee, probably the one thing McConnell has done right in recent years, heck, maybe since he's been in Congress.

If sites such as ALIPAC, Numbers USA, and Center for Immigration studies keep getting the word out, maybe patriots like Sessions will see their efforts rewarded. And Americans will see their government actually protecting their interests. It's a long shot, but we have to keep trying.
