Senate adopts Cornyn amendment to ban funds for gun-walking programs
The Senate voted unanimously today to amend a federal spending bill to include language from Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, banning taxpayer funding for gun-trafficking programs like Operation Fast and Furious.
The amendment, added to a bill appropriating funding for law-enforcement and other programs, drew praise from Sen. Barbara Mikulski, D-Md., who chairs the Senate Appropriations subpanel that handles funding for law-enforcement programs.
