What Trent Lott said, and my letter to him

    Sir, You said:
Sen. Trent Lott, Mississippi Republican, acknowledged that most Republicans oppose the bill in its current form, but said its not a huge topic in his home state.
"People in my state have a little different attitude toward immigrants because they've been saving our skin" by providing inexpensive labor for post-Hurricane Katrina reconstruction, he said.

"Inexpensive labor", that's the name of this shyster new reform bill.

Are you aware that a bus load of black men, from Georgia, went to New Orleans after KATRINA, to work?

When they got there, they were told to get back on the bus and go home, because, "the Mexicans have arrived."

According to the Ga. newspapers, then men returned crying, as they needed work!

You are betraying America and American workers just like Bush!

As a Republican, I no longer will vote for Party, I will vote issues, and this illegal mess is far too important to stick with one Party!

It's time for a 3rd Party, and 2008 just maybe the year!
Do not vote for Party this year, vote for America and American workers!

I saw an interview on Fox news shortly after the hurricane when clean up began. They had a woman who worked for some type of employment agency. She had lined up a bunch of Amercians to go and work in the clean up. She said a day or two before they were supposed to start, she received a call that said we do not need any of your workers because the "mexicans are coming"

I remember feeling so sick to my stomach.

I remember that interview also. I believe that woman worked at a temp agency down in south Alabama. So maybe the same thing happened to a number of men from several states. It was a shame and I wrote to my senators, Sessions and Shelby raising heck over it.
    "Remember the Alamo!"
