Senator: Citizens get caught in 'witch hunt' for illegals
Menendez speaks out on immigrant detention

WASHINGTON - Federal agents striving to crack down on illegal immigration are detaining a growing number of U.S. citizens and legal residents, Sen. Robert Menendez said this afternoon.

The son of Cuban immigrants gave an impassioned speech on the Senate floor to announce he’s introducing a bill to make the detention process more humane. Some detainees have died, recent media reports have said.

His speech critiqued the zeal to curb illegal immigration - marking perhaps the first time a lawmaker has spoken out against the unforeseen consequence of the immigration debate last year.

Citizens get caught in shootings, rapes and murders too. That is no excuse for mass illegal immigratiion.

Sounds like just another way to slow down deportations because the OBL thinks that comprehensive immigration reform is just a matter of time and they would hate to loose a few.

More OBL propaganda. Martinez was ADOPTED by Americans in Florida under operation "Peter Pan". His parents came from Cuba some years after him as political refugees. Since Martinez was born in Cuba he is not the "son of immigrants" he is an immigrant himself, as are his parents.
