Senators hold meeting on illegal immigration costs

OKLAHOMA CITY State officials said today that more than 26-hundred children were born to illegal citizens in Oklahoma hospitals last year.

A state Senate task force is studying the issue of illegal immigration. Senator Daisy Lawler, task force chairwoman, says hospital costs from births make up most of an estimated ten (m) million dollars in taxpayer costs linked to illegal immigration.

Lawler says the statistics reflect an increase in illegal immigration in Oklahoma and how important law enforcement will be in next year's legislative session.

Howard Hendrick, director of the Oklahoma Department of Human Services, says illegal immigrants don't qualify for programs where eligibility is determined by his agency, including child assistance, food stamps and Medicaid.

That's nothing. 3 hours south of central Oklahoma, John Peter Smith in Fort Worth and Dallas Parkland Memorial way out unber the entire state of OK.

Last year, Parkland's doctors and nurse-midwives delivered 15,590 babies
A recent survey of patients indicated that 70 percent of the women who gave birth at Parkland in the first three months of 2006 were illegal immigrants.

JPS in Fort Worth alone doubles the number born in the entire state of OK.
Of the 5,775 deliveries during fiscal year 2005, which ended in September, 4,207 were the children of women without immigration documents

No more illegal aliens and the anchor babies have to go too. Two foreigners don't make an American.

    had,

They qualify in emergencies. They open a Medicaid case for the emergency and they close it when the illegal leaves the hospital/clinic. That's how all those baby deliveries are paid for. They consider child birth an emergency. My rear!!!!!!!
