Senators look for immigration deal

Immigration reform is 'in the infant stage,' Lindsey Graham said.

Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) have rekindled their alliance on immigration reform, taking some early steps to test the political will for addressing the contentious issue this year.

Their call list hasn’t focused so much on House and Senate members who’ve been reliable pro-immigration votes in the past. Instead, they’re looking to a strange-bedfellows mix of conservative and liberal constituencies that can provide a “safety netâ€

Two questions: What made them think that immigration might have another shot? What American citizen gave them that idea? Also, why are both pro-illegal congressmen from Arizona? McAmnesty and Kyl? Why are more and more republican congressmen jumping on the pro-illegal bandwagon? Thoughts??

There is no need at all for comprehensive immigration reform or a guest worker permit process for illegal aliens. To claim otherwise defies the rule of law, the needs of our nation and the wishes of the American People.

Why would any Senator, Democrat or Republican, want to legalize 8 million illegal alien workers and their families to unfairly compete with our 26 million unemployed Americans??!!

What is wrong with these pro-immigration people? Something is very wrong with these people.

And South Carolina, you need to put Lindsay Graham out of the US Senate and badly as New York needs to put Schumer out of the US Senate as badly as Nevada needs to get Harry Reid out of the US Senate. Wake up and vote these people out of our government and defeat amnesty once and for all.

I am convinced the Dem Congress members & some Repubs give false hope to IA's every year so the IA's will not leave and to invite more to come and get in on the Amnesty that they well know will never pass the House !!

Why are they not concentrating on jobs for Citizens ? The Dems seem to have forsaken the jobless and poor citizens in favor of foreign nationals. Unbelievable & shocking.

No Amnesty

My guess-

I believe illegal voters to be large numbers of people. I believe most politicians to be people of vanity who will do whatever is necessary to hold on to power..

Thus, they pander to the illegals, knowing that they greatly increase the odds of capturing their vote. In the meantime, they are committing, in my opinion, virtual treason by deliberately seeking to legitimize the illegals in hope of retaining their votes.

Here we go again! McCain simply cannot leave amnesty for illegal invaders alone! Why is he so compelled to aid and abet illegal invaders, to the detriment of American citizens? He's on a one man crusade, in order to keep the amnesty dream alive for illegal invaders in this country.

Illegal invaders must be voting, and doing so in large numbers in order to have the unwavering attention of so many of our elected officials.

These people are traitors and should be booted out of office!
