Senate Votes on Sen. Sessions' E-Verify Amendment #604
    Tuesday, March 10, 2009, 5:17 PM
Senate Leader Harry Reid tried to keep Sen. Sessions' E-Verify amendment from a floor vote, but pressure from other Senators forced the issue. In one more twist, Sen. Patrick Leahy motioned to table the amendment during the two-minute debate prior to Tuesday's vote, and the motion passed by a margin of 50-47.

    Votes to Table Amendment #604
A "Yes" vote to table Amendment #604 is a vote against the extension of E-Verify for 5 years. A "No" vote to table Amendment #604 is a vote in favor of extending E-Verify for 5 years.
