Sex Offender Arrested in Downtown Calexico

(Friday, June 10, 2011)

Calexico, Calif. – Yesterday, U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Calexico Station arrested an illegal alien with criminal history for felony sex charges.

The arrest took place at approximately 4 p.m. when Border Patrol agents working downtown Calexico apprehended a man for making an illegal entry into the U.S. from Mexico. The man was transported to the Calexico Border Patrol Station where he was identified as 25-year-old Pedro Orozco-Flores. Record checks revealed that Flores had a prior arrest and conviction out of Moreno Valley, Calif. for sexual intercourse with a minor.

Flores is currently being held by the U.S. Border Patrol where he will be presented for prosecution.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is the unified border agency within the Department of Homeland Security charged with the management, control and protection of our nation's borders at and between the official ports of entry. CBP is charged with keeping terrorists and terrorist weapons out of the country while enforcing hundreds of U.S. laws.
