Lex man sentenced for sexual assault

LEXINGTON - A Lexington man was sentenced Friday to 12 to 14 years in prison for sexual assault of a minor.

Dawson County District Judge James E. Doyle sentenced Roberto Gomez-Gonzalez for two counts of first-degree sexual assault of a minor.

Chief Deputy County Attorney Kurt McBride noted the victim feared for her life because of threats made against her and asked the judge to impose a lengthy sentence.

Defense Attorney Ken Harbison said any threats did not come from his client.

Doyle said Gomez-Gonzalez will be eligible for release in six years, must register as a sex offender and will be subject to deportation.

I assume that since Gomez-Gonzalez is subject to deportation that means he is an illegal alien.

I second that assumption!
