SF election worker arrested over missing ballots

    Here we go....
(11-03) 11:46 PDT San Francisco -- San Francisco police have arrested an election worker but have not recovered 75 ballots he allegedly stole from a polling station, police said today.

Karl Bradfield Nicholas, 50, of San Francisco, left his post at 4:15 p.m. on election day at the station on Knott Court with the ballots and a memory card that recorded the votes cast, said Lt. Lyn Tomioka, a SFPD police spokeswoman.

He was arrested at his home in the Ingleside at 1:12 a.m. Wednesday but police were unable to find the missing items.

He faces three felony counts including burglary and two election code violations. Elections officials say he may have taken a cell phone, but police say he has not been charged with that.

Tomioka said Nicholas left the polling station without explanation. "He left and did not return. He didn't say where he was going."

Nicholas, formerly of Kentfield and San Rafael, is a computer repairman and registered Republican. He represents himself in lawsuits and has a website in which he rails against the court system.

Wow, this is just weird and creepy. What was he planning to do with just only 75 votes? Was there personal info with those ballots? Woudl he have harassed the voters about their votes?

NO ONE should ever attempt to interrupt the process of our voting system, even if you think the outcome would be bad, no ones vote should ever be tampered with or diluted by votes that were fraudulent....

If we are to remain a nation "of the people" then we have to have complete honesty and credibility in our system.
