    PELL CITY, Ala. (AP) — Members of the state board of education are scheduled to vote on a policy Thursday that would keep illegal immigrants from being admitted to Alabama's two-year colleges.

    The policy would require all applicants to prove their U.S. citizenship or that they are in the country legally. If passed, it would take effect during preregistration for the spring 2009 session.

    Students who are admitted before then would not be affected.

    Why don't they E-Verify I-9s of immigrant at the local State Unemployment Offices? Problem solved.
