STAFF REPORT
McALLEN - A shooting reportedly involving a U.S. Border Patrol agent and an unknown number of suspects occurred Thursday evening, according to authorities.
Two suspects were apprehended and it is uncertain if authorities are still searching for more suspects.
A black Ford F-150 pickup truck crashed into a tree in the intersection of 36th Street and Hummingbird Avenue around 6:15 p.m., but authorities would not confirm if it was involved in a police chase.
At the scene, Border Patrol agents were seen taking a Hispanic male wearing a black baseball cap into custody.
A neighbor, who did not want to be identified, said she was outside her house with her daughter when she heard two shots fired coming from a corner house in the North McAllen neighborhood.
Police later reported that a second man was apprehended near a canal off of Ware Road, a few blocks north of the crash.
Further details would not be disclosed since the incident is still under investigation, said Oscar Saldaña, spokesman for the U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
McAllen police were not immediately available for comment.

02-06-2015, 05:21 AM #5Yeah, I'm sure "mums" the word, since the suspects are probably illegal aliens and may be eligible for Obama Amnesty, so the government needs some quiet time to figure out if shooting Border Patrol agents while in fear of getting caught for being in the country illegally is actually a serious crime or not.Further details would not be disclosed since the incident is still under investigation, said Oscar Saldaña, spokesman for the U.S. Customs and Border Protection.A Nation Without Borders Is Not A Nation - Ronald Reagan
