Eglis, a Guatemalan immigrant is struck by an uninsured motorist, losing her right leg.

Because of her status, she is "uneligible" for programs that would help any other citizen of San Francisco.

Because of the lack of insurance of the motorist, no lawyer will take her case.

If the ILLEGAL had not been in the United States ILLEGALLY she would not had thus problem! She should return to her "home" country and let them worry about her.

I wonder what the odds are that the driver was an illegal alien herself?

Personally, I'm not seeing the problem. This woman, while it's tragic that she had an accident at all, is suffering nothing that millions of American citizens don't suffer every single day of the week.

In fact, I would say that, from the looks of things, she's getting more treatment than many Americans in the same situation are getting......

It almost sounded to me like she fully expects that, because the other driver was uninsured, our government owes her $$$$ or something.

I would say over 70% chance the driver was illegal also. Send the bill to her country of origin!

What about all the Americans who limbs and lives are taken by illegal alien drivers? Our government does not do anything for most of them either.

There is no such thing as a citizen of San FRancisco, only US citizen, which she clearly is not. Too bad, so sad, deport her.

But if a newsstory is written about an American citizen injured or killed by an illegal alien, we hear cries of anti-immigrant and xenophobia from the alien advocates: " Oh, they're inciting anti-immigrant sentiment by publishing that". This on the other hand is a sob story and we're supposed to have sympathy.

She voluntarily chose to take the risk of coming here and breaking our laws. She's illegal. If a criminal accidentally gets hurt in the commission of a crime, do we have sympathy for him? NO.

The driver was probably another illegal

She wants to send a letter to Obama asking for amnesty so her and other illegal immigrants can get health care. Who does she think pays for all of this, the president?

Americans pay into the system to help other Americans. Not illegal aliens.
