Solis Pushes Multilingual Government
"Rep. Hilda Solis (CA)...has introduced a bill misnamed The Health Equity and Accountability Act of 2007, H.R. 3014, that requires all federally funded entitites to provide 'meaningful access' to their services for non-English speaking immigrants."
"THE BILL WOULD LEGALIZE EXECUTIVE ORDER 13166, now simply a Justice Department policy interpretation whose legality is being challenged...in federal court. The scope of Solis's bill is vast because it would apply to the federal govenment as well as state and local government agencies that receive even one cent in federal funding. It also applies to federal contractors including hospitals, clinics, doctors and health care providers that participate in programs like Medicare."
"The huge cost of providing translation services for any of the more than 320 languages now spoken in the U.S. would be paid by state and local taxpayers, as well as health care consumers in the form of bigger bills since THERE IS NO FEDERAL FUNDING TO PAY FOR THESE SERVICES IN THE LEGISLATION."
"In June a House subcommittee held a hearing on H.R. 3014, which has the support of 113 U.S. Representatives."
Executive Order 13166, "Improving Access to Services for Persons with Limited English Proficiency", was signed by President Bill Clinton August 11, 1996.

LEGAL IMMIGRANTS can usually speak, read and understand English. It's the ILLEGAL ones who would need this "service" and we don't need to cater to these criminals. They need to be arrested and deported, not welcomed here with open wallets and open arms.
I would like to see someone in the legislature of California introduce a bill that ALL TV stations within the borders of the USA that are NOT transmitting in English be strictly regulated, by requiring that ALL of these stations are broadcasted with ENGLISH subtitles, all commercials be in English only and to access these stations, there should be a hefty fee to pay EXTRA to have this divisive junk piped into your home. This would, at least address the problem in California of non-assimilation and help illegals learn to speak English, somewhat.
I also believe that all radio stations should be required to have at least 75% of it's air time, aired in ENGLISH. We need to turn around this race to wipe out OUR native language in favor of SPANISH, (Yes, we know who the greatest pains in the a$$es are) now and begin to stand up as Americans and preserve and protect OUR native language, customs, culture and sovereignty by NOT allowing corporations to determine which language will be dominant here..

We can’t even get ENGLISH as the OFFICIAL language. Seems someone’s priorities are a little misplaced. Is this more legislation sliding through in the dark of night?
