Son of deported immigration activist returns to Chicago

CHICAGO | The 9-year-old son of an immigration activist who took sanctuary at a Chicago church for a year is returning to the city for the summer.

Saul Arellano (saw-OOL' ah-ray-AH'-noh) is Elvira (el-VEE'-ruh) Arellano's son and a U.S. citizen.

Elvira Arellano defied a deportation order by living at the Adalberto United Methodist Church for a year. She was arrested and deported to Mexico last year after attending a rally in Los Angeles.

Saul will live with his legal guardians in the U.S. They are the church's Reverend Walter Coleman and his wife, immigration activist Emma Lozano.

Coleman says Saul will visit old friends and will also participate in immigrant rights events.

On Friday, he'll attend a vigil in front of a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention center in McHenry County.

The users and abusers continue their disgusting tactics.

Someone needs to pull the 501 C3 status of this church because it is actively engaging in political activity trying to influence legislation and impact public policy.

What they're doing isn't religious charity. It's advocating rights and benefits for illegal aliens in direct violation of US immigration, US labor and US civil rights laws.

In North Carolina, a 2006 study conducted by the UNC Kenan Institute School of Business showed that the lower "immigrant wage advantage" cost North Carolina Workers $1.9 Billion a year in jobs and deflated wages and salaries. One state, one year. Multiply that by 50 states and 8 years and perhaps it's easy to understand by America is going broke and our people are dropping into poverty.
