Two area men face up to a decade in federal prison after pleading guilty to charges of hiring and transporting undocumented immigrants.

50-year-old Thomas Gard of Nederland and 49-year-old Phillip Taylor Hallmark of Winnie are accused of finding jobs for the workers in Michigan, then skimming part of the money paid for the jobs.

According to prosecutors, the workers were paid only $800 a week.

Hallmark owns Hallmark Industrial Services and Gard was a manager there.

Sentencing for both men is expected by early November.
