Southern border still a mess: Arizona sees 58,000 in one month as October sees second-highest border encounters ever

The United States-Mexico border continued its spiral into lawlessness in the last month, with border encounters still reaching astronomical numbers unseen until President Biden took office.
In Arizona specifically, the Tucson Sector Border Patrol apprehended 58,000 illegal immigrants in a span of 28 days. Numbers continued to pile on to what was an unfortunately busy October 2023 for the region, which saw 55,224 migrants, according to Breitbart.
Tucson Sector Chief Patrol Agent John Modlin posted numerous figures on X, compiling data from just one week in his border sector.
"Week in Review," the chief began before noting that there were "15,300 Apprehensions."
As well, 117 pounds of fentanyl were seized, along with over a dozen human smuggling events, and "78 Federal Criminal Cases - 17 Rescues - 14 Human Smuggling Events - 3 Narcotics Events," Modlin added.
Illegal immigrant apprehensions increased by 1,000 week-over-week in the same sector, but the amount of fentanyl seized decreased from 300 pounds. There were also nearly double the number of migrant rescues (33) in the week prior.
The Tucson sector saw an increase of almost 122,000 migrant apprehensions in fiscal year 2023, which ended with 373,625. In 2022 that number was 251,984.
John Fabbricatore, retired Air Force member and retired ICE field office director, posted a video on his X account from Lukeville, Arizona, showing a massive queue of illegal immigrants at the border.
"As darkness descends on Lukeville AZ nearly a thousand illegal aliens have crossed the border and turned themselves over to Border Patrol. Where are these people going?" he asked.
Encounters at the southwest border have barely slowed in the first month of fiscal year 2024, according to Customs and Border Protection.
October 2023 saw 240,988 encounters, the second-highest month on record. September 2023 saw the most encounters ever with 269,735. This capped President Biden's record-setting 2023, when 2,475,669 illegal immigrants were encountered along the southwest border.
Of course, 2022 originally set the record at 2,378,944.
By comparison, 2022 and 2023 fiscal years under President Biden each saw more border encounters than the entirety of President Trump's four-year term combined.
Additionally, the last two record-setting years under Biden even combined for nearly 1.5 million more border encounters than the entire eight years of Barack Obama's presidency, historical data showed.

But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
