Lou Dobbs Tonight
Thursday, June 5, 2008

Tonight, Sen. Hillary Clinton says she’ll drop out of the
presidential race and throw her weight behind rival Barack
Obama. We’ll take a look at what’s next for both contenders.
And we’ll have all the latest news from Washington and around
the country. Plus:

* Foreign investors are again trying to buy up parts of this
country’s critical infrastructure. The latest case involves the
purchase of railroads that serve military bases and transport
nuclear material across the country. The investment firm
involved in the deal won’t even reveal its investor-members,
which could include hostile countries.

* Tensions are rising in both the U.S. and Mexican governments
over the Merida Initiative, the $1.4 billion aid package
offered to Mexico to fight the raging drug war. Lawmakers here
fear that taxpayer dollars will go to waste and want to add
stipulations tied to human rights and corruption reform in
Mexico. Mexican lawmakers say that’s too much meddling in the
country’s internal affairs.

* What does it mean to be an American? Most Americans believe
our national identity can be concretely defined, but six in ten
believe that American identity is weakening, according to a new
report.
