Protesters Draw Attention To Illegal Immigration
POSTED: 10:55 pm CDT October 7, 2006
OMAHA, Neb. -- Dozens of people lined the streets near the Mexican Consulate on Saturday afternoon to protest illegal immigration.
At 36th and Dodge streets, protestors held American flags and signs with messages about border control and amnesty. The group is called United Citizens of America.
The protestors want to influence politicians to secure the u-s border and enforce immigration laws.
"I went through the process," said protester Ivonne Jones. "I stood in line. I went through a very hard physical, and I'm proud to be an American. I'm from this country now and I want the laws to be enforced like they did with me."
Police at the rally said the demonstration was peaceful.Equal rights for all, special privileges for none. Thomas Jefferson

More people should peacefully protest illegal immigration in cities across the country. It is the best way to get the message across as most of the media won't.
