Sheriffs from around the state of Ohio will converge on a Columbus hotel Thursday for the Buckeye State Sheriffs' Association Spring Seminar to discuss the ever-burgeoning illegal immigrant issue and its impact on state communities.

Officials from Immigration Custom Enforcement (ICE) and the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) will give presentations along with talks from Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones and Allen County Sheriff Dan Beck.

The seminar is aimed at helping the various departments identify and deal with problems associated with immigration laws and procedures.

I like the Ohio Sheriffs proactive approach.
