Steele says immigration law 'not a reflection of entire GOP
Steele says immigration law 'not a reflection of an entire political party'
The Hill
By Elise Viebeck
Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele refused to embrace Arizona's controversial immigration law Tuesday during an interview with Univision, the country's largest Spanish-language television network.
"The actions of one state's governor is not a reflection of an entire country, nor is it a reflection of an entire political party," he said, referring to Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer and her support for S.B. 1070.
"The governor and the people of Arizona made a decision that they thought was in their best interest, and that's the beauty of a republic, that's who we are."
Steele has faced criticism as RNC chairman because of his propensity for gaffes and difficulty managing the organization's finances and fundraising efforts.
He said Tuesday that since the immigration debate is now "in full bloom," he hopes that "level heads will prevail" in finding a "commonsense solution" to the immigration issue.

The TEA PARTY needs to take a hard line against Illegal Immigration and It will serve the party well Into the future. Repos really still want cheap labor, and Demorats want more low skilled, low I. Q Illegals to vote for them In the future. Time for a third party takeover of the Federal Government to provide for the will of It's own AMERICAN CITIZENS.... TS

I watched a clip of the day that Michael Steele appeared on D.L. Hughley's talk show. That was the day that I stopped contributing to the RNC. A close study of that appearance revealed a lot about Mr. Steele. Isn't it amazing that other Republican causes are not having nearly the problem of raising money that the RNC is....Mr. Steele is not going to go quietly, and going into the November election, the hard core conservative GOP won't be willing to throw him under the bus.....which is where he belongs.

I am discouraged with our local tea party regarding illegal immigration. A large part of the tea party is made of small business owners.
They hire illegals, and have the taxpayers subsidize their labor force. And they join the tea party so they can pay less taxes on their immoral profits.
The local Chamber of Commerce members are behind this force - they are already organized, they are good with spin and support illegal labor. Not so much amnesty - they might have to pay them a living wage if they were citizens, but they do support a steady supply of new recruits for slave labor.
Arizona GOP pushing tough, new border policies, but faces strong...
