Thread: Stolen Identity

I was in contact with a woman in Illinois whose identity was stolen. She discovered this when she went to the unemployment office and found out she was already receiving unemployment. The problem was her SS number was being used by two male illegals (or one illegal using two similar names). You would think a red flag or two would be noticed by the Unemployment office that a female's SS was being used for a male. But, then this is Illinois.

She contacted ICE, the Justice Department, SS, the local police, and of course the unemployment office. Some of the agencies would investigate if she could find out the culprit's address. The agencies put the responsibility of tracking down the criminal into her hands. That was the only advice she was given. No concern that Illinois taxpayer money was being given to someone who was using fraudulent documentation, no concern for her rights, and nobody willing to do their job.
