    Stolen vehicles

Former justice of the peace being questioned

EDINBURG - An auto theft investigation gives police more than they bargained for - close to ninety illegal immigrants.

Authorities went out to a ranch just outside of Edinburg in search of some stolen trucks Saturday afternoon. Police were able to find the trucks they were looking for and two mobile homes full of illegal immigrants.

Eight individuals took off running and another eighty were picked up by Border Patrol agents.

Authorities tell NEWSCHANNEL 5 the ranch belongs to Reynaldo Salazar, a former justice of the peace for Precinct 4. Salazar is being questioned by authorities but has not been charged

These poor hard-working illegals need transportation to get to there illegal jobs. What's more appropriate than them traveling in stoles vehicles.

    Illegal Immigrants Captured

    Salazar could face charges

EDINBURG - A former justice of the peace owns the land where some illegals were found over the weekend.

Police say about 90 illegals were found on Reynaldo Salazar's ranch. ICE agents say he and several others were taken into custody for possibly violating immigration laws.

If charged, they could be in federal court as early as today.

The ranch is located just outside of Edinburg. McAllen officers went to there to look for stolen trucks.

Police tell us they found the trucks and two mobile homes full of illegals. We're told nine of them took off running. Border Patrol agent picked up the other 80.

Officers say the majority of them were women and there was one child in the group.
