Lou Dobbs Tonight Friday, May 9, 2008 utilities shut off

    Lou Dobbs Tonight
    Friday, May 9, 2008

Tonight, it’s the end of an exciting political the week but the
Democratic Party doesn’t appear to be any closer to picking a
    nominee.

Reports today say Sen. Barack Obama will declare victory in
less than two weeks. But Sen. Hillary Clinton vows to fight on
    – and she’s expected to win the next two primary contests.
We’ll have the latest on the campaign, plus:

    * More families than ever are having their utilities shut off –
with even more facing that possibility in the coming weeks. In
California, nearly 2 million families have fallen behind on
utility payments. Pennsylvania's delinquencies are up 30
    percent.

    * Although fewer teens are using marijuana these days, a new
report from the federal government says that adolescent users
put themselves at greater risk for future mental illness and
    depression.

    * Veterans say they aren’t receiving the paid education they
were promised when they were recruited. They’re lobbying
Congress to increase the benefits offered by the decades-old GI
Bill. The current GI bill pays barely covers public college
tuition, but the proposed version would be raise benefits to
    cover the highest in-state tuition.

    * The police officer leading Mexico City’s anti-kidnapping unit
was shot and killed in his home this morning. Esteban Robles
Espinosa’s assassination comes just a day after the head of
Mexico’s federal police force was gunned in Mexico City. Both
murders appear to be acts of retaliation for Mexico’s crackdown
    on drug cartels.

    * In our weekly tribute to the men and women who serve our
nation in uniform, we’ll have the story of Army Specialist
Garth Stewart. Stewart was a mortar gunner in Iraq and lost his
leg when he stepped on a landmine. Less than three months
later, he was back on active duty, training to join his unit.

And so CA sinks further into Third World status.

I wonder if they will mention what proportion of that number w/o utilities are living in LA?
