advertisementBorder Patrol agents found more than two tons of marijuana hidden beneath pallets of bottled soda in a tractor-trailer Thursday evening at a temporary checkpoint near Patagonia on Arizona 82.
At 8 p.m., agents at the checkpoint noticed the odor of marijuana coming from the trailer and called in a dog to be sure, said Mike Scioli, Border Patrol Tucson Sector spokesman.
The dog alerted agents to the trailer where they found more than 4,000 pounds in between the pallets, he said.Stay tuned to Starnet for further updates.
