UPDATE: Suspect in Manassas triple murder an illegal immigrant

UPDATE, 11:40 a.m.: Suspect in Manassas shootings identified as Jose Reyes Alfaro, 37, charged with three counts of first-degree murder. Victims identified as Brenda Ashcraft, 56, William Ashbey Ashcraft, 37, and Julio Cesar Ulloa, 48 Manassas police are holding a press conference at 11 a.m. to discuss last night's shootings that left three dead and three wounded.

MANASSAS, Va. - Authorities believe two attacks that left three people dead and three others wounded in Manassas on Thursday night are related.

Manassas Police Chief Doug Keen said a person of interest is in custody and has been interviewed, but no one has been charged in connection with the city’s first three homicides of the year. Three people also were wounded in the incidents, which happened less than an hour apart. A 77-year-old woman was among those injured when she was attacked with a machete, police said.
