CHANNEL 5 NEWS (KRGV, 2011) We are learning more about the leader of the six Zetas arrested in the killing of ICE agent Jaime Zapata.

The ring leader of the Zetas arrested Wednesday night is Julian Zapata Espinoza, or "El Piolin." His name means Tweety Bird; they call him that because he's short.

Mexican media and The Associated Press are reporting Espinoza was arrested in December 2009 on illegal weapons charges. The Associated Press says Espinoza jumped bail and disappeared. Mexican media report a judge let Espinoza go.

Soldiers caught him and five other suspects Wednesday when they raided four Zeta safehouses in San Luis Potosi.

ICE Director John Morton says the operation to find agent Zapata’s killers isn't over. It’s quite possible we may hear of more arrests of more Zeta bosses in the coming days.
