When a squad of 10 Swedish police officers successfully rescued a 10-year-old boy at the Signalisten refugee center who had been repeated raped, they were forced to retreat when confronted by raging migrants. The incident was reported by the Vestmanlands Läns Tidning newspaper one week after the attack.

In a police report obtained by the newspaper, an officer witnessed “Even more people appeared behind us. I was mentally prepared to fight for my life. We were 10 police officers in a narrow corridor. And I hear someone yell that there is an emergency exit.” the officer said. When authorities tried to re-locate refugees to another facility after reports surfaced of the systematic rape of the boy, but had to call in the police when angry refugees refused to budge.

The incident took place in the Signalisten refugee asylum in Västerås – a city some 62 miles west of Stockholm. The police had not offered any information on the incident until January 25.

Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Lofven declared on January 25 that more police are needed to handle the influx of refugees, suggesting that law enforcement is currently overwhelmed. “Many of the problems we are now facing help to prove the point that Swedish police have long been underfunded and understaffed,” said Lena Nitz, who heads the bargaining unit for the police.

In related news, 22-year-old social worker Alexandra Mezher was stabbed to death by a 15-year-old male refugee at the refugee center in Mölndal. While Mezher initially survived the attack, she later succumbed to her wounds in hospital. The title of Mezher’s university thesis is ‘The Road to Non-Criminal - A Lifestyle Change.’ She was a believer in establishing trust with people as a key to social work. The center where she worked housed ten young people aged 14 to 17.

Swedish police are warning that rail stations have been overrun by gangs of refugee youths who assault women, harass passengers, grope women, and steal. As in Germany, women and girls are complaining of rapes and sexual assaults by refugee males, especially at community swimming pools.
