JONESBORO, Ga. -- It was police versus gang members at a Clayton County mobile home park Thursday night.

More than 100 police officers swarmed into the Hunters Ridge park armed with guns and arrest warrants for 60 suspects.

Officials said the park had become a haven for gang activity.

The arrest warrants ranged from petty theft to murder.

Police arrested 27 people.

"That's good they need to be taken off the streets, I mean people getting killed all the time," said park resident Lamar Jones.

"Kids don't care anymore."

Immigration agents were part of the sweep because many of the suspects are in the country illegally. Officials said those suspects will be deported.

FBI Agents, members of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, Forest Park police and the Fayette County Sheriff's Office also participated in the raid.
