Two state troopers hurt in crash
By Rocky Mountain News
October 27, 2006
Two Colorado State Patrol officers were injured this morning when the driver of a GMC Yukon lost control of the vehicle near Silver Plume and crashed into their patrol car.
Trooper Randy Noftsger, who has been with the patrol for two years, sustained moderate injuries, and cadet Gabriel Easton suffered minor injuries. Both were taken to St. Anthony Central Hospital by ambulance.
CSP spokesman Gilbert Mares said the patrol car was parked on the far westbound lane of I-70 off the traveled portion of the roadway as the pair helped a motorist who had spun off the left side of the road into the center median.
The Yukon, driven by Eduardo Vargas-Palacios, 26, of Denver, lost control, spun off the highway and rear-ended the patrol car.
Vargas-Palacios and two passengers were not injured.
While investigating, authorities discovered that Vargas-Palacios had an outstanding felony warrant for an immigration deportation violation.
Federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials took Vargas-Palacios and his two passengers into custody.
The patrol car sustained extreme damage.Support our FIGHT AGAINST illegal immigration & Amnesty by joining our E-mail Alerts at https://eepurl.com/cktGTn

How many more law enforcement officers have to get injured or killed in the line of duty before our government does something? Earlier this month two Homeland Security boats were in a crash on the ocean while chasing Cuban migrants in a go fast boat off the coast of Florida. Four agents were injured and one of them had brain surgery. The Cubans never made land and are being sent back to Cuba. Many Border Patrol Agents get shot at or assaulted by illegals on a regular basis in some areas. I am also aware of the knives that some Cubans pull on Coast Guard personnel when they intercepted at sea. It is long over due that the safety of those who serve and protect be more of a concern to our politicians.

I see the recurring theme of pop a top, point and speed with folks that are not accustomed to the driving laws of this country. My nephew is officer in WI and I worry about him.
