TBC meeting will focus on legislative agenda, not just border wall

McALLEN, April 14 - While most of the media’s focus on the Texas Border Coalition over the past year has been about its strong opposition to the border fence, the group is also concerned about healthcare, workforce training and transportation.


Tuesday afternoon, at the McAllen Convention Center, the TBC executive committee will meet in executive session to decide whether to take legal action against the federal government’s plan to construct border fencing in Texas. They will also meet with David Pagan, liaison to state and local governments at Customs and Border Protection.


TBC, representing border cities and counties from El Paso to Brownsville, will also hold a regular meeting to start to hone its legislative agenda, a move that health committee chair Jose Rodriguez very much welcomes.
