    "Illegals List" news article

This is an article from a news station in Utah. Someone put a list together of a bunch of illegal immigrants and sent it to media and authorities. Rather than being appaled at how many illegals are in Utah, and investigating them, the government is more concerned about punishing those who put the list together.

Letter that accompanied list of supposed illegal immigrants in Utah. SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - Utah Governor Gary Herbert held a Friday press conference regarding a state investigation into the source of a list of purported illegal immigrants that was circulated to media outlets and law enforcement offices.

Herbert said the investigation involves Utah Department of Workforce Services employees may have been identified as the sources of the list. Herbert said two people were identified by investigators as those responsible for the creation and dissemination of the list. Herbert did not identify the individuals, and said that the investigation was "ongoing."

Herbert said the results of the investigation were to be turned over to Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff.

Herbert said the immigration issue is a complex and emotional issue, but should be separate from the 'list' investigation. He also said that the people were "not heroes" for a greater cause and intimated that the list posed more of a distraction to the immigration issue.

Herbert called the action of the people who generated and sent the list "deplorable" and "unfortunate." He also said that the small rogue group's actions were "probably born out of frustration."

Utah DWS Director Kristen Cox also spoke at the press conference and said investigators were confident that the small core group responsible for the list had been identified. She did not believe the list was generated as part of a larger conspiracy.

Cox also said that there was no external breach of DWS data, and that the physical list was generated internally.

Cox said the responsible individuals held strong political opinions regarding immigration. Cox said the employees were put on leave and escorted from the main DWS office building.

ABC 4 also spoke with Mark Shurtleff on Friday, who said he was "offended and embarrassed" by the list and suggested that state and federal charges are possible in the case.

Ain't that the same "Shurtleff" who was on Greta last night with Napolitano? I remember him saying something about guest workers and other drivel. Now he's being put in charge of investigating the whistle blowers who tried to save Utah millions! What a sad day!

He should also be offended and embarassed about cherry-picking which laws to enforce.

Instead of going after the whistleblowers, why aren't they charging the illegal aliens on that list with federal violations, hmmm?

If you had adopted kids from Mexico, wouldn't you'd be offended too?

If your kids are adopted from mexico, legally, then I dont see where there would be offense taken. The issue isnt about being from Mexico, its about the ones who are breaking the law.
